Target Audience
This is Cherry, she is eighteen years old from Cheshunt. Having recently completed her A Levels, she hopes to attend a university which specialises in music, as she is extremely interested in all aspects of it. In addition to her A Levels, Cherry has also completed her Grade 6 guitar exam.
Although she has many pastimes, her favourites are socialising at parties, going out with friends, listening and/or updating her iPod and watching horror films due to the suspense built before the main event/s.
Cherry regularly attends and performs in music concerts, with her favourite artists being Blink 182 and Slipknot.
As shown in the image above, Cherry fits into the stereotypical view of the way in which my target audience dress, as she/they would not be classed as up to date with fashion trends, but instead create their own style in order to be unique, just like the music.
According to the NRS System, my target audience is to be in levels D and E, as this is the category into which students-including Cherry-fall into. As the vast majority of them will not be in employment, I will have to ensure that my magazine is of an affordable price so that it will generate a high number of sales. Whereas as a large percentage of current magazines are around £3-£4, I would sell mine at around £2-£2.50.
